Peter Hallam
Born: 24th August, 1965. Peter is Patricia’s twin brother and they share a very special bond. Peter went to school at De La Salle brothers in Bankstown and completed his Higher School Certificate. Peter has had several jobs over the years until being employed by TAB corp. Australia, in 1995 where he stayed for ten years. He is now working as a sales representative for Grace Removals. Peter married Leanne Wormald in 1989 and has three children – Cara born in 1991, Kieran born in 1993 and Justin born in 1996. The family live in Raby, Campbelltown.
Patricia Hallam
Patricia Mary Hallam was born in –Sydney, NSW on the 24th August, 1965. Her parents were Mary Kay and John Edward Hallam. Patricia has an older sister, Margaret and two brothers, Kevin the elder and the other her twin, Peter. Patricia lived in Greenacre until September 1988, when she married Leslie Gabor. Once married she lived in Strathfield and is still living there today with their 3 children – Steven Christine and John.
Schooling: Patricia started kindergarten in 1971 at St Felix Primary School Bankstown until December 1977. From 1978 I attended St Peter Chanel High School where I finished my schooling in 1981
Job History: After leaving High School I started work as a Junior Clerk in a Stockbroking Company. I worked there for 10 years and worked my way “Up the Ladder” My progression within the organisation eventually saw me gain the position as Office Manager where I managed a staff of 60 people. I left when I had my first son Steven in 1991. In 2001 I decided to do some part time work as a Personal Trainer. I did this for 3 years however found the hours too hard with school age children so I then decided to work as an Administrative Assistant at St Therese Primary School – from 2004 -2010. I then decided I would like a change and am currently working in the Accounts Dept at Next Generation Health Clubs.
Interests: “I enjoy spending time with my family and have always had an avid interest in all their co curricular activities. My eldest son has played soccer since the age of 6 and it has taken us on some wonderful holidays when he was competing in several competitions. I have coached my daughter’s netball since she started when she was in Year 2 and my youngest son interests include drumming and playing cricket, both of which I have supported him in. I also like spending time with friends, cooking, reading and going to the cinemas.
Margaret Hallam
Born: 1st August, 1962. Margaret is the oldest of the four children. Once leaving school she commenced work as a bank teller for Westpac in Greenacre, where she grew up as a child. Margaret married her child hood sweet heart at the age of 21, unfortunately this ended in a divorce four years later. She later remarried, Jason Watkins and had a child in 1999 called Kayla. This marriage was also fraught with disaster as her husband turned out to be abusive and as a result she divorced him when Kayla was three. A few years later she met a gentlemen by the name of Mark Ryan who had a daughter Genevieve, the couple married in 2011, they presently reside in Mount Annan. They run a glass tinting business together located in Narellan.
Kevin Hallam
Born: 28th February, 1964. Kevin left De La Salle School in Bankstown at the end of year ten and got an apprenticeship as a plumber. On completing this he started up his own plumbing business which is still in operation today, having also branched out into roofing. Kevin married Patricia Welstead in 1987 and had three children – Alexander born in 1989, Luke born in 1992 and Jordan born in 1995. The couple got a divorce in 2003; Kevin now lives in St. Claire, Penrith with his partner Debbie and his son Luke. Alex is a qualified chef and lives down the south coast where he works in a club as a chef. Jordan lives in Ballina, NSW with his mother.

John Edward Hallam
John Edward Hallam was born in Inverell, NSW on the 29th of October in 1938.John lived in Inverell until May 1945 when he moved to Marickville and remained here until May 1955. "My parents owned and managed a corner shop at Marickville, the shop was a mixed business providing for the local community. From May 1955 -1962 I lived with my parents and two sisters at Beverly Hills. Following marriage I purchased a house at punchbowl (1962) and lived here until I moved to Greenacre in 1968 - Greenacre is my current address".
Schooling: "I attended Kindergarten class during 1944 and first class until May 1945 at Inverell School. From May 1945 until December 1946 I attended Ferncourt Infants public school at Marickville. During 1947-1950 I attended West Marickville public school. From 1951-53 I attended Tempe Boys intermediate high school where I obtained my intermediate high school certificate. In 1954 I attended Canterbury boys high school but only until May 1954 when I ceased school to commence work as an insurance clerk.
Work: "My work in the insurance industry commenced May 1945 following my decision not to proceed schooling studies. I joined the liverpool and london globe Insurance as a junior clerk. In 1962 I was promoted to a position known as Inspector. During June 1956 I resigned from L&L&G and joined Lombard Insurance as inspector - this change was due to an offer of higher pay and supply of a car which could be used for private purposes. In 1980 I resigned from Lombard Insurance to become an Insurance broker. From 1980 until 1985 I worked as a broker in partnership with 1 other person. In July 1985 I worked as an employee in capacity of service officer in various insurance broking businesses.
Interests: "I enjoy spending time with my family and grandchildren. I love watching soccer on the television as well as attending games that my sons and grandchildren play. I regularly attend concerts in clubs to listen and watch talents of entertainers. I also travel through country towns and staying here to observe older buildings and ways of life. "
William Edward Hallam and Jessie Ellen Hallam
William Edward Hallam as a child lived in Bonshaw, located in northern NSW on a farm with his parents which they owned. Once William had finished school they moved to Inverell. The family all had various different jobs in Inverell which resulted in an apprenticeship as a barber for William. After qualifying as a barber he continued to work as a hairdresser. Around 1934, he established a hairdressing business in Inverell - this business had two sections ( mens and ladies salon) and normally employed three persons. The business was sold in 1945.
Jessie Ellen Hallam was born and grew up in Inverell and attended a local catholic school. She was known to be a very good swimmer. On leaving school she was employed as a shop assistant in a large newsagency before changing to a receptionist/secretary job for one of the towns doctors.
Bede (1854)and Jessie Kelleher (1852)
Bede was born in London with his parents (unknown) and moved to Australia when he was 3 year old. Little information is known about his time in England. When Bede came to Australia he lived in a property in Victoria, called Geelong. Jessie was born in Australia, her parents died at a young age (unknown reasons) and was adopted by a couple who lived

Henry and Francis Hallam were the parents of Edward, Lisa, Samantha and Marie Hallam.
Mary Kay Hallam(1940)
Mary Kay Hallam was born on 2nd of March, 1940. Mary had two younger sisters, Nan and Marne and brother, Mark. They family lived in Buringbar NSW until 1948. Around December 1948 Mary's parents, Alex and Mary-Ellen Walls bought and a dairy farm in Mooloolah, and the family moved here to live and work on the farm. I remember as a child getting my finger stuck in the banana wheel, and screaming until my mum came to help me. The farm was not profitable and therefore there was little future employment opportunity for the children. The farm was sold in 1956 for these very reasons. They then moved to Sydney where they lived in Eastwood until moving to Punchbowl when Mary married John Edward Hallam. The couple then purchased a home in Greenacre, 1968 which is their current location.
Schooling: "I attended Barringbar catholic school from 1947 to 1948. I then moved to Queensland where I attended Mooloolah public school for a few months and then I enrolled at Hambourn catholic school until I finished school in year ten - 1954"
Work: "I worked in a telephone exchange from 1955-56. I moved to Sydney and lived in the family home at Eastwood where I was employed at the Chemist shop until 1962.
Interests: "I have 11 grandchildren which interest me a lot. I like gardening, sewing, knitting. I've also joined a Probus called with my husband where we go on bus trips and the like.

Alexander Walls was born on the 3rd of January, 1908 and died in 1948. In 1925 Alex married a woman by the name of Mary-Ellen Smith who was born on the 4th of February, 1911 and died in November, 2007. The couple gave birth to three daughters, Mary-Kay born 2/3/40, Nanette born 27/3/42 and Marne born 17/8/43. They also had a son Mark who was born on the 1/8/47
Alexander was a banana grower in Barringbar Northern NSW. Alex and his family then moved to Mooloolah in QLD to run a dairy farm. They moved back to Sydney as they saw no employment opportunities in the future here on the farm. Alex died in 1948, aged 40. Mary-Ellen lived in a small country town called Crabs Creek, Western Australia. She then moved to train as a nurse at St. Margarets hospital in Sydney. She returned home, married and raised four children with Alexander in Burringbar and QLD.
When Alexander died, she moved to Greenacre with her daughter Nannette and her husband Brian. Mary-Kay her oldest daughter lived down the street. Mary Ellen Walls died in 2007, aged 96.
David Jonas (1883) & Theresa Cattell (1886)
David Jonas was born on the 23rd of November 1883 and Theresa was born on the 16th of February 1886. The couple met in 1901 and got married almost immediately. They both lived in Queensland, in a small town by the name of Clermont. Once the pair married David started to work in the Bennet brother furniture shop located close to their home, this was a close friend of David’s family business. The couple had three boys together by the names of Hugh, Daniel and Evan. Around 1920 when all the kids had finished schooling, the family moved to Inverell in Sydney to live and find work.
Edward was born on the 4th of March, 1880 and Annie-Amelia was born on the 21st of January, 1886. Edward was brought up in a small town in Northern NSW on a farm. Edward and his three sisters - Lisa born in 1789, Samantha born in 1881 and Marie born in 1883 worked on the farm before and after school hours. When Edward parents Henry and Frances Hallam passed away from a fatal car accident when he was 20, in the year 1900 he decided to invest in the farm and live here. When Edward married Annie in 1902, he brought her to live on the farm with Annie and was soon to have two children - William and Marcus. Little is know about Annie-Amelia but the names of her parents are William and Ann Rhodes-Merry
Jonas and Martha were the parents of David Jonas, Vanessa, Holly, Lucy and Charlotte Cattell. The family lived in Cairns QLD on a farm. Jonas met Martha when he was 18 in 1980 and she was 15. The pair became really good friends as they both had come for poorer families, having less materialistic ways of living so they connected really well.
